🎉 What a way to wrap up Week 1! 🐾

Yesterday, we celebrated the first week of school with a Back-to-School Assembly at the high school! It was so much fun seeing all those smiling faces as we got back to some good old-fashioned fun with Rock, Paper, Scissors ✊✋✌️ and Musical Chairs 🎶🪑!

After a GREAT first week of school, we couldn’t think of a better way to head into the weekend!

🧠🔬 Critical Thinking in Action at CJ Junior High!

Our Junior High students are already getting hands-on with one of the key skills in our Portrait of a Graduate: Critical Thinking!

🔬 In Science, students put their creativity and problem-solving skills to work as they used spaghetti to build towers—testing ideas, learning from what worked (and what didn’t!), and thinking critically along the way.

🍦 In PLTW, students explored Applied Science by making their own homemade ice cream! They got to see science in action while learning how scientific concepts can be applied to real-world experiences.

We love seeing our students think, create, experiment, and learn by doing! That’s what Bulldog learning is all about!

🏫 THROWBACK THURSDAY! 🏫

Before our current schools, technology-filled classrooms, and Bulldog traditions we know today, Carl Junction’s school story began right here!

📸 This is Carl Junction’s first school building, built in 1887 near the intersection of Miller Street and Locust Street. The building featured two rooms upstairs and two rooms downstairs.

Nearly 140 years later, we know there are generations of Bulldogs with memories of classrooms, teachers, friends, ballgames, concerts, field trips, and so much more. ❤️🤍

🎓 Celebrating Dr. Jane Graham! 🎓

Please join us in congratulating High School Science teacher Jane Graham on earning her Doctorate of Education (Ed.D.) from William Woods University! 👏🎉

This accomplishment represents years of dedication to learning and growing as an educator. Jane is in her 14th year of teaching, including 13 years serving the students and families of Carl Junction Schools.

Her educational journey includes:
🎓 B.S. in Accounting – Peru State College
🎓 M.B.A. – Missouri State University
🎓 M.A.T. – Missouri State University
🎓 Ed.S. – William Woods University
🎓 Ed.D. – William Woods University

Beyond the classroom, Jane serves as an Assistant Coach for Scholar Bowl and is a member of our Curriculum Leadership Team, continuing to make a positive impact throughout our district.

Congratulations, Dr. Graham! We are so proud of your hard work, dedication, and commitment to lifelong learning! 🐾

What a first day! 🐾

We may have started the morning with a little rain, but the sun is back out—and it feels like the perfect way to wrap up an amazing first day of school! ☀️

There’s just something special about the first day. The excitement, the smiles, the hugs, the new routines, and the feeling that a brand-new year of memories is officially underway.

It was SO good to see all of those smiling faces back in our buildings today! From our youngest Bulldogs to our seniors, we hope today was the beginning of an incredible school year filled with learning, growth, friendships, and plenty of memories we’ll look back on for years to come.

Welcome back, Bulldogs! We’re ready for an AMAZING year! 🐾
