After we visited the Country Music Hall of Fame, we toured the Lenten dart RCA Studio B, where Elvis, Dolly, and many other huge artists produced and recorded hits. We then had dinner at the Hard Rock Cafe before attending the Grand Ole Opry! Two artists even debuted new singles during the show!

After loading our buses this morning, we departed for downtown Nashville for a few more hours of exploration. Some students decided to perform a line dance we learned at Category 10 while we were waiting for our buses!

Our last big stop of this trip was to Buc’ees, a stop the students requested!

This trip was such a great experience! Thank you to the Bennett Travel Company, our tour guide, bus drivers, and chaperones for an amazing trip!! ✈️🎶

We have been having such a fun time so far in Nashville!

We had a surprise first stop at Centennial Park where there is a full scale replica of the Parthenon! Then, we went to Vanderbilt University and worked with a professor on some of our spring concert music. We ended the night at Category 10 and learned some line dancing!

Today, we first stopped at the Grand Ole Opry and got a backstage tour. We then explored Broadway Street and got a tour of the Country Music Hall of Fame!

We have several more stops today, so stay tuned!!

It was quite a week for the Airport Choirs!

On Wednesday, several of our choirs traveled to Mason High School to perform at State Choral Festival. Varsity Voices and the 7&8th Grade Choir received a Division II rating , and our 6th Grade Choir received a Division I rating! All choirs were amazing and got great advice to help us improve!

On Tuesday, Varsity Voices performed with high school choirs around the Monroe area and with the Agora Choral at MCCC for a night of great music making!

Last Friday, the Airport Choirs hosted the annual ACS Variety Show, which featured many great acts. Thank you to our Choir Council for emceeing and making the night go smoothly!

The arts are thriving at Airport! Go Jets!! ✈️🎉

Varsity Voices has had a very eventful holiday season so far! Right before Thanksgiving, they joined high school choirs from all over Michigan at the Eastern Michigan University SSA and Honors Choir Day. There, they spent the whole day learning new songs to sing at a concert that night. The day was so fun, and we even had 2 Airport Choir senior baritones join us as well for the first time!

Today, Varsity Voices went around to several nursing and retirement homes in the area so kick off our caroling season. They had such a great time spreading some holiday cheer! Go Jets! ✈️🎄

Yesterday, the AHS Choir Council hosted the 2nd Annual Music Department Wars! AHS choir members competed against the Airport Community School Bands in games and challenges, practiced for our concert, and enjoyed each others company. Though we lost this year, the event was a great success! Come see the AHS bands and choirs at our Comined Holiday Concert on December 10th @6:30pm in the AHS gym!
