Ash Township Fire Department

Ash Township Fire Department Ash Township Volunteer Fire Department serves Ash Township, a 36 square mile area in Northern Monroe County. We run calls out of two stations. Questions!

Our two stations, Station 1 on Maxwell Road in the Village, and Station 2 on Ready Road. They are staffed by paid on call Volunteer Firefighters. What does this mean for our community? This means both stations are ran by members of our community. They could be your neighbor, son, daughter, brother or sister. Almost all of us call Ash Twp home. So what happens when you call 911? When you call 911 y

our initial interaction is with Monroe County Central Dispatch. They will ask you some basic questions before alerting members of the department via a voice pager. After our pagers "trip" any available Firefighter will respond from his or her home to the Fire Station. From there they will bring what ever equipment is needed to help mitigate the emergency. Please remember our members are volunteers who often miss dinners, birthdays, anniversary's, and holidays keeping our township safe. Our Firefighters are often responding from our homes and head to the fire station before getting to you. Currently we have 3 new hires that will being training this fall. All other members are full trained Firefighters. We currently also have on staff Paramedics, EMTs and MFRs to handle your medical emergencies. Please Ask!

ROAD OPEN - As of this morning, Oakville Waltz Rd at Maxwell is back open. AT&T made the repair late last night, and the road closed signs have been moved off to the side of the road. Monroe Road Commission will be out this morning to collect all of the signs. Thank you all for your patience as we tried to get this repair done as soon as possible.

UPDATE ON STRUCTURE FIRE- It was a cold day for the Ash Township Fire Department. At approximately 12:30 this afternoon, we were dispatched to a report of a barn fire fully involved. Ash Township E-1 arrived on scene to find a barn fully involved, threatening multiple structures and vehicles. Automatic aid from Exeter and mutual aid from Huron Township Fire Departments were on scene and assisted with getting the fire under control. When it’s this cold, firefighters have to battle through equipment freezing up and keeping personnel warm. All departments cleared the scene around 6:00 p.m.

We’d like to give a BIG shout out to Nina’s Pizza in Carleton for making our firefighters some excellent pizza to help us warm up.

Below is a thank you to all who assisted today.
