FREE "Takeoff Aviation-STEM Event" (PRE-REGISTRATION REQUIRED) for any student, aged 10-17, accompanied by a parent/guardian, at St. Louis Regional Airport in East Alton, Illinois, on June 20, 2026, from 1:00-3:00 PM.

Attendees will rotate through interactive activity stations focused on:

1) Aircraft Pre-flight, 2) Forces of Flight, 3) Instrumentation, 4) Navigation, 5) Runways and Air Traffic Control, 6) Airframe and Powerplant Mechanics

This FREE event is open to ANY interested student (accompanied by a parent/guardian) who pre-registers! (SPACE LIMITED!)

The nationally recognized Illinois Math & Science Academy (IMSA) is leading a FREE asynchronous online summer course focused on Artificial Intelligence June 1-June 26th facilitated by IMSA Computer Science Faculty. Through engaging modules, Ss will examine how AI powers everyday tools such as speech recognition and computer vision, while also studying the underlying concepts of machine learning, natural language processing, robotics, and intelligent agents. The course is designed for independent, self-paced learners, blending multimedia resources, interactive activities, and reflective projects. By the end, students will have a foundational understanding of how AI works, how it has evolved, and will have an informed perspective on its role in shaping our future. Students will receive a certificate upon completion of the course! Special thanks to Dr. Kelly Remijan, ROE40 Director of STEM Initiatives, for helping to plan and coordinate the conference held at SIUE. The totally FREE conference included awesome sessions, raffle prizes, and food!

Description: All teachers (math, CTE, science, etc.), counselors, and administrators are invited to take-part in this engaging learning opportunity! Attendees will experience how STEM—especially math as a foundational skill—shows up in construction through real, hands-on activities, not just discussion. Participants will rotate through practical demonstrations and activities that highlight how knowledge of classroom concepts and mathematical thinking drives accuracy, safety, and efficiency on the jobsite.

Great opportunity for junior & senior HS students to experience the STEM behind FBI work!

The FBI's Springfield Division is now accepting applications for its annual FREE Teen FBI Academy to be held on Friday, August 7, 2026 from 8:15am to 4:45pm at the Springfield FBI Field Office. This academy provides a unique opportunity for motivated high school students to develop leadership skills by engaging them in team-building experiences, exposing them to careers in law enforcement, and encouraging them to communicate and collaborate across cultures.

Participants will have direct interaction with FBI Special Agents, Intelligence Analysts, and Professional Support staff as well as community leaders throughout the program. Activities will include physical fitness, hands-on forensics work, participation in a mock crime scene investigation, and much more!
