I want to take a moment and congratulate Rogelio Vebber-Carrera a Senior and Civil Air Patrol Cadet from Fleming County High School who enlisted into the KY Army National Guard yesterday as an 88M with the 2123rd Transportation Company out of Richmond KY. He plans on attending college at the University of KY for Civil Engineering which of course his tuition will be paid for 100% by the KY Army National Guard. On top of that he qualified for $493.00 a month tax exempt while going to school full time and an additional $350.00 a month tax exempt while attending college. Yesterday we had an event at Nicholas County High School football field although the weather pushed inside, we brought together three schools Mason County High School Fleming County High School and Nicholas County Schools - Carlisle, KY football programs to participate in a conditioning camp with the KY Army National Guard's Hollistic Health and Fitness Program managers. We played the game of 52 card workout session and let just say these young gentlemen felt the pain, the tiredness, and the struggle, but they all learned that their mental toughness can push them through anything. They stayed motivated and encouraged each other. Proud of all these young men, their coaching staff, and our team that assisted with coordinating and conducting the event.

I owe Cody Pyles (in the green shirt and jeans), an apology as I did not post his enlistment May 29th 2026. Mr Pyles from Hillsboro KY enlisted as a 12N Horizontal Construction Engineer. He qualified for 100% Tuition, $493.00 and the $350.00 GI Bill Kicker paid to him while going to school full time tax exempt as well as a monthly paycheck and many other benefits.

Shout out to Megan Weber a graduate of Mason County High School on her enlistment into the KY Army National Guard yesterday. She enlisted as a 92W Water Purification Specialist which coincides with her environmental degree path she is taking at Morehead State University. She qualified for 100% Paid Tuition to college, $493.00 a month tax exempt just going to college full time, on top of monthly pay that is State tax exempt, and many other benefits that will assist her i. Her future endeavors along with plans after training to contract with the ROTC in college. I look forward to seeing her grow and develop as a soldier and a leader in her community. On December 30th 2025 Christian Trejo a senior from Bourbon County High School enlisted into the Kentucky Army National Guard as a 91D Power Supply Generator Specialist. He qualified for a $20k enlistment Bonus. 100% College tuition. Gets paid to go to college $831 a month tax exempt on top of his month drill pay. I am very proud of this young man's commitment to furthering his education and utilizing the benefits the National Guard provides as well as his commitment to serving the great state of Kentucky and representing Bourbon County High School.
