The Cumberland County Republican Committee welcomes the new Chair of Young Voter Engagement, Logan Spiewak. Logan is a 27-year-old Marine Corps veteran and Founder of the "Boots to Health Foundation”, a non-profit organization that supports veterans’ mental health. He is a Cumberland County resident; an avid Christian, and a political conservative. Logan expressed interest in getting involved and, absent an active YR chair, it seemed the perfect fit. Please be sure to welcome Logan to the CCRC and introduce yourself when you see him. Interested in joining our Young Republicans? Visit our Cumberland County GOP website at https://gopccpa.org/volunteer/ to get involved!

Congratulations to the Cumberland County Republican Committee’s new Governor’s Club Chair! Savannah Martin has accepted the challenge to lead our premier fundraising organization. Originally founded in 1978, the Governor’s Club was formed to provide resources to the county Republican Party and Governor Dick Thornburgh’s campaign. The Governor’s Club helped deliver a victory at its inception and continues to be a driver of Republican victories at all levels of government. With big shoes to fill following in the footsteps of former GC leadership Louisa Gaughen, Alexandra Anastasio, and Lisa Grob, we are excited to have Savannah step into this role.

Interested in learning more about the Governor’s Club? Check us out on the CCRC website at https://gopccpa.org/governors-club/!

CONGRATULATIONS to former Cumberland County GOP Chair, Lou Capozzi, and PA GOP State Committee member, Kaytee Isley, who were selected to represent Cumberland County PA in the first-ever Republican Midterm Convention for Dallas in September 2026.

President Donald Trump announced that the Republican National Committee will hold its first-ever national convention during a midterm election year, with Dallas, Texas selected as the host city. The two-day event is scheduled for September 9–10, 2026, at the American Airlines Center and is designed to boost GOP voter turnout ahead of the November elections that will determine control of Congress.

Described as a “truly historic event”, the move represents a significant departure from American political tradition. The Republican National Convention has historically been a series of presidential nominating conventions held every four years since 1856. Political parties have only hosted conventions during the final stretch of a presidential campaign — making this event structurally unprecedented for the modern GOP.
