What a fantastic turnout for the end-of-the-school-year Cone with a Cop event at Kimball Farm! 🍦☀️

Members of the Carlisle Police and Communications Department were hard at work serving up ice cream to the community. It was a hot day, but there were plenty of smiles to go around. Thank you to everyone who came out and helped make the event such a sweet success! A special thank you to the Kimball Farm scooping crew for all their hard work!!

Our condolences go out to Sgt. Quigley’s family, friends, and everyone at Dedham Police Department. May he rest in peace.

With a heavy heart, we announce the passing of active-duty Sergeant James Quigley. Jim left us earlier today after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Throughout his battle, Jim continued to serve our community with commitment and selflessness.

Jim joined the Dedham Police Department on August 31, 2015. After 2+ years assigned to uniformed patrol, Jim’s demonstrated skills earned him the opportunity to serve as a detective. Jim spent several years conducting drawn out investigations which require advanced training and knowledge. On August 22, 2022, Jim was promoted to Police Sergeant where he represented the Dedham Police Department at the Dedham District Court. In this role, Jim worked with the Norfolk County District Attorney’s Office and court personnel as cases made their way through the court system. He proudly served as an advocate for domestic violence victims while leading the effort to develop a program for law enforcement officers to support victims.

Jim was a man of great character, integrity and intelligence. As a quiet leader within the Dedham Police Department, he led through the quality of his work and integrity. Jim was proud to serve our community and of his family’s past police service. Even more so, Jim was immeasurably proud of and devoted to his family. We ask you to remember Jim’s family at this incredibly difficult time.

Rest in Peace, Sergeant James Quigley.

Congratulations!

Earlier today Carlisle Police Officers took part in the Massachusetts Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics Cruiser Convoy. We joined other law enforcement agencies from cities and towns all across Massachusetts to convoy to Harvard University for the start of the Special Olympics Massachusetts Summer Games. Officers then handed out medals and awards to the amazing athletes. It was a great day!!

As my time in Carlisle comes to a close, I wanted to take a moment to express how grateful I am to have been a part of this community for the past three years.

I would like to thank the Select Board, the Town Administrator, and the Assistant Town Administrator for placing their trust and confidence in me to lead the Carlisle Police Department. To the residents of Carlisle, thank you for welcoming me into your community and allowing me the opportunity to build trust and strengthen relationships with your Police Department.

I would also like to recognize the administrative and facilities staff, Emma, Al, Steve, and Al, who work tirelessly behind the scenes to support the Police Department and the Town. Their professionalism, dedication, and willingness to assist with countless projects, and day-to-day operations go unseen, but their contributions are why we are successful.

These past three years have been the most rewarding of my career, and they are memories I will carry with me forever. I leave knowing that the Carlisle Police Department will thrive under the leadership of Interim Chief Andy Booth and, hopefully, future Chief Booth.

The men and women of the Carlisle Police Department and Carlisle Communications are amongst the most professional, dedicated, and compassionate law enforcement officers, and Dispatchers, I have had the privilege of serving alongside. Their commitment to helping others in times of need is inspiring, and they consistently demonstrate the very best of our profession.

Thank you for allowing me to be a part of your amazing community.

-Chief Amendola

The Carlisle Police Department is proud to support Sgt. Kerry Baxter as she participates in this year’s Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics.

The Law Enforcement Torch Run is a nationwide event in which law enforcement officers carry the “Flame of Hope” to raise awareness and funds for Special Olympics athletes. Through her dedication and commitment to this important cause, Sgt. Baxter is helping promote inclusion, celebrate the achievements of athletes with intellectual disabilities, and strengthen community support for the Special Olympics movement.
