Nicholas County EMS had the opportunity to participate in High Performance CPR joint training alongside the Carlisle Police Department and the Nicholas County Sheriff’s Office.

Working together in emergency situations is critical, and this training focused on teamwork, communication, and delivering the highest quality patient care possible during cardiac emergencies. Strong partnerships between EMS and law enforcement help ensure the best outcomes for our community when seconds matter most.

Thank you to everyone who participated and continues to dedicate their time to training, preparedness, and serving Nicholas County.

Anything eggs (breakfast of course) or beans(supper). Eggs and grits from Dick’s. Beans and corn bread from tracks.

Favorite hobby:
Spending time with my three wonderful boys and my significant other, John (and of course his kids.)

Favorite hobby outside of work:
Cooking and anything and everything outside.

Favorite music or sports team:
I love Bluegrass music mostly. And watching UK basketball is a family tradition.

Our pets:
Little Miss Riley, my Pyrenees mix. She’s 11 and is the BEST dog ever.

Fun fact about me:
I’m a Christian, a mother of three boys, I’m a Republican, I LOVE GOD, my country, my family, I’m a Veteran (Army-Military Police), I love cooking, gardening, and enjoy shooting/collecting guns.

What inspired you to work EMS:
I was present when a dear (elderly) neighbor of mine had a major medical emergency. I was able to witness the first responders rendering aide to her. I was so impressed with their skills. I wanted to be able to help people in their time of need the way they did.

What do you enjoy about serving the community:
I just love Carlisle. I love that it is so similar to the community I grew up in. The folks here are like family. Whether it’s the people I see at Dick’s for breakfast, the people at Save-A-Lot (Ms. Cheryl), at Tracks, or out and about. They’re all so genuine. Just like my own family. The community comes together for the kids…we es**rt them in after big games. I love every part of it.

What’s something you wish the public knew about EMS:
I truly care. I come in your time of need (sometimes exhausted and sleep deprived) and give you my all. I’ve left my family to serve yours. I want provide comfort and life saving interventions when you have no other hope because you and your family matter to me.

🚑Provider Spotlight

Name: Dylan L. Hunt

Job Title: Paramedic

Years in EMS: 8

Favorite food: any pasta dish

Favorite hobby outside of work: spending time with friends

Favorite music/ sports team/TV: listen to a variety of music so I can’t nail a favorite one down

Family fun fact: I have two toddlers who keep me on my toes.

Fun fact about me: I can walk in a room spend about 5-7 minutes inside it and come back out and draw that room almost perfect.

What inspired you to work on EMS: I was inspired to work in EMS because of the demand. It was something I had to have to be a career firefighter, but then it became my calling.

What do you enjoy the most about serving the community? Being honored to enter someone’s home as a complete stranger and care for a loved one. Nicholas county is a tight knit community and being allowed that opportunity means the upmost trust in myself and my partner.

What is the one thing you wish the public knew about EMS: I wish the public knew how hard it is to go from call to call on the hard call days. This job is one of the most mentally demanding jobs and sometimes it’s just been a long day and we tend to let that show on the next call. It’s not on purpose, it’s just the lesser part of the job

What does community support mean to you? Having the support of the community means that they back us up no matter what, having the support of the community boosts morale and boost the confidence of the community in our ability to serve.

Message to the community during EMS week: No matter what, we will be there to help you in your time of need. The community should never have to worry about if an ambulance will arrive at the call, we will be there.
