Well folks..we have another unique hand-made knife for you collectors of fine art.

The Desert’s Striker is not merely a knife—it is a living expression of the Southwest, forged through collaboration, patience.

Handcrafted in Carlsbad, New Mexico, this one-of-a-kind piece brings together two distinct artistic disciplines. The handle, carved from piñon wood into the fierce likeness of a rattlesnake’s head, was sculpted by Nate Chavarria . Every curve and contour reflects the alertness, danger, and elegance of the desert’s most iconic predator—frozen in the moment before the strike.

The blades and deer antler stand were created by Devin Aguillard . The blade and "side fangs" were formed entirely from luminous Opalite glass. The side fangs are 1 continuis piece of Opalite running thru the piñion handle. Rare and demanding, glass transforms this blade from a functional object into a one of a kind artifact. Its pearl-toned translucence captures light and motion, giving the blade an almost ethereal presence—delicate in appearance, yet powerful in symbolism.

The Desert’s Striker is a singular work of art. It was never meant to be mass-produced, duplicated, or forgotten. This piece is for collectors who value origin, story, and the unmistakable mark of human hands shaping raw materials into meaning.

In a collaboration with Devin Aguillard , we as local artists created a custom native american inspired short spear. Every part of this piece was created by hand.

Titled "The Owl’s Vigil"
A protector piece—always watching, never sleeping.

Artist Nate Chavarria selected a curved piece of New Mexico Pinion tree wood as the handle which is curved for the perfect grip. At the top of the spear is a custom owl that was hand carved has 2 Glass Ruby Gems set inside the eye sockets. At the base of the handle, 2 feathers were hand carved into the wood with a semi-semetrical background.

Devin painstakingly worked, knapped and shaped the blade. The blade is made of Davis Creek obsidian and was carefully worked to be razor sharp! Devin also attached a deer leather hide handle cover. Finished with hand carved bone beads and pheasant feathers to finish the accents on the piece.

We are currently selling this hand made piece. If you are interested, please send myself (Nate) or Devin a message.

Starting asking price is $500 but we will listen to all offers! Send us questions as well!
