This is the situation we are trying to correct. The traffic is backed up onto Highway 210. This was on a Friday around 10:00 AM. A car was nearly rear-ended in the left-hand turn lane . Recently, a women called our office to described how this same situation nearly cost her life. She was in tears and begged our office to find a solution before someone dies. We truly are asking our customers to come to the facility less frequently with garbage and hope the minimum charges encourage this behavior. We apologize for any inconvenience but this change could save a life. Thank you for understanding.

Part-Time Zoning and Environmental Services Clerk

Our PT Zoning Clerk received a promotion to transfer to another county office...yeah for her 🎉 but sad for us 😭. This position provides clerical and administrative support to the office as well as provides information to the public regarding our ordinances and services. Ideally, the candidate would be a wiz with the Microsoft Office Suite and be a Minnesota Viking's Fan. The current clerk is a Packer's fan and that gets a bit rough around football season.

TO APPLY: A completed Carlton County employment application is required and must be submitted to Human Resources in person, via email to [email protected] ...

Anyone else trying to figure out how big of a turkey to buy for a smaller Thanksgiving this year 🙋‍♀️?

Here is a link to a food calculator: https://savethefood.com/guestimator. It is also a great resource for food waste education and prevention.

As a reminder, the Carlton County Transfer Station accepts bagged food waste for free. Just ask the cashier for free compostable bags. We are thankful for all the great recyclers in Carlton County!
