🇺🇸 Happy Flag Day! 🇺🇸
On Sunday we honor the symbol that represents our nation’s history, unity, and the freedoms we share—the American flag.

Adopted on June 14, 1777, the flag has stood as a powerful reminder of the values that bring us together: liberty, resilience, and hope. Each star and stripe reflects the story of our country and the people who have helped shape it.

On this Flag Day, may we take a moment to reflect on what the flag means to us and appreciate the sacrifices made to protect the principles it represents.

Let’s celebrate with gratitude and respect. ❤️🤍💙

Public Works: the team behind the scenes

From parks and streets to the pool, pump stations, bathrooms, shelters, generators, and the water plant, our Public Works crew covers a lot of ground in a week.

This week’s work included cleaning park shelters and bathrooms, checking pump stations and generator fuel levels, trimming fallen limbs at Lower Park, maintaining areas around Hawn Creek and the 4th Street Bridge sidewalk, cleaning up triangle areas near 7th Street and Jr. Meadows, working at the water plant, and getting the pool ready for the community.

These may not always be the most visible projects, but they are the kind of day-to-day work that keeps Carlton moving.
We appreciate our Public Works team and the pride they take in caring for our community.

Thanks to a collaborative effort between the Carlton Police Department and community member Sarah Meyer, an exciting new Senior Parade route has been created that keeps the tradition alive while balancing safety, fun, and community spirit. To make the celebration memorable, water balloons and water guns will be allowed only in the Lower Wennerberg Park area, while larger water-dispensing devices remain prohibited throughout the route to ensure a safe and enjoyable event for everyone. 🎉

The Carlton Police Department, in partnership with a Carlton community member, Sara Meyer, who reached out directly to Chief Martinez, engaged in a productive conversation regarding this year's Senior Parade. Working together under a tight timeline, they brainstormed ideas and possible solutions together and developed an alternative route that would allow for a water component to be incorporated into the senior parade route through Carlton, ensuring that seniors could be celebrated as they have been in years past while preserving a valued community tradition.

Through this conversation and partnership, a solution was proposed that hopefully will balance tradition, safety, and community camaraderie. This partnership demonstrated the positive impact that can be achieved when community members and law enforcement work together toward a common goal in a respectful manner and exemplifies the strong relationship between the Carlton Police Department and the community it serves.

To help balance safety, enjoyment, and community traditions, the parade route will be adjusted to allow water balloons and water guns only within the Lower Wennerberg Park area. Water balloons will not be permitted along the remainder of the parade route through Carlton.

For the safety of participants, spectators, and property, water trucks, water tanks, hoses, and other similar water-dispensing devices will not be allowed anywhere along the parade route including the Lower Wennerberg Park.

We appreciate the community's cooperation as we work together to create a fun, safe, and memorable celebration for our graduating seniors.
