🛍️ 2026 FALL CITY-WIDE YARD SALES
📅 September 18th & 19th

It’s the perfect time to find some great deals and hidden treasures all around Carlyle! Several residents throughout the city will be participating in the Fall City-Wide Yard Sales.

📍 Having a yard sale? Call City Hall at 594-2468 to have your address included on the official yard sale map!

🗓️ Deadline to be listed on the map: Thursday, September 10th

Please note: Start and end times are determined by each individual hosting a yard sale.

🗺️ Maps will be available at:
• City Hall
• Case-Halstead Library
• IGA
• Oh So Sweet Bakery & Cafe
• All Carlyle gas stations
• All Carlyle banks

🧹 FALL 2026 CLEAN-UP WEEK
📅 September 30th – October 3rd

Get ready to clean up and clear out! Items will be accepted at the Street Shed during the following hours:

🕖 Wednesday–Friday: 7:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
🕗 Saturday: 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Please remember:

✅ EMPTY & DRY paint and oil cans are accepted with lids removed
✅ Yard waste is accepted
❌ Tires of any size are NOT accepted
❌ Televisions are NOT accepted

🚛 Heavy Metal Pickup: The Street Department will only pick up heavy metal objects from residents' homes, such as refrigerators and freezers.

If you need a heavy metal item picked up, please call City Hall at 594-2468 to be added to the pickup list. Items must be placed at the alley or street for pickup.

🇺🇸 LABOR DAY HOLIDAY CLOSURE & SERVICE UPDATE 🇺🇸

Carlyle City departments will be closed on Monday, September 7th, in observance of Labor Day.

💡 UTILITY BILL REMINDER: City utility bills are due September 5th. As always, when the 5th of the month falls on a weekend, payments will still be considered on time if paid on the following business day. In this case, payments may be made on Tuesday, September 8th, without being considered late.

🗑️♻️ Trash & Recycling Schedule Changes Due to the Holiday:

🗑️ Trash Pickup: Tuesday, September 8th
♻️ Recycling (west side of Highway 127): Saturday, September 12th

Both trash and recycling services will resume their normal schedules the following week.

🇺🇸 WHAT AN HONOR! 🇺🇸

We were honored to welcome and show our appreciation for the veterans as they traveled through Carlyle today! ❤️🤍💙

It was wonderful to see our local police and fire departments, City employees, and so many residents lining the streets to cheer them on and show their gratitude.

Thank you to everyone who came out to help give these deserving veterans the warm welcome they deserve. Your service and sacrifice will never be forgotten! 🇺🇸❤️

Let's show our support by lining the parade route 🇺🇸

🇺🇸 COME CELEBRATE OUR VETERANS! 🇺🇸

Join us Monday, August 31 for a special Veterans Celebration Day honoring those who have taken—or will be taking—an Honor Flight in 2026. ✈️ A short program begins at 11:00 AM and is open to the public.

❤️🤍💙 Then help us send them off! Veterans depart the museum around 12:45 PM, traveling through Carlyle, Beckemeyer, Breese, Aviston, and Trenton. Line the streets, wave your flags, bring your family, and cheer them on

🇺🇸 HONOR FLIGHT CELEBRATION — MONDAY, AUGUST 31 🇺🇸

Help us give our local veterans the welcome and recognition they deserve! ❤️🤍💙

Standin’ Proud Veterans Tribute Museum in Bartelso is hosting an Honor Flight Celebration Monday, Aug. 31, beginning at 11 a.m. at Standin’ Proud.

Following the ceremony, veterans and their guardians will depart at approximately 12:45 p.m. for a parade through Clinton County.

📍 The procession is expected to travel through Carlyle around 1 p.m., before continuing through Beckemeyer, Breese, Aviston and on to Trenton, all along Old Route 50.

🇺🇸 Come line the route! Bring your American flags, patriotic signs, cheers and smiles and help show these veterans just how much their service and sacrifice mean to our community.

Seven Clinton County veterans will depart for the Land of Lincoln Honor Flight on Sept. 1, with another nine scheduled for a Southern Illinois Honor Flight on Sept. 14. ✈️

Let’s give them a Clinton County send-off they’ll never forget! 🇺🇸❤️🤍💙
