All risk means all risk.

The Cachagua Fire Protection District, staffed by dedicated volunteer members of our community, trains extensively to be ready for any emergency. Vehicle extrication operations are complex time critical situations where every minute matters. Our firefighters continuously improve their skills to respond quickly, safely, and effectively when it matters most.

Cachagua Fire responded to a structure fire at Tassajara Hot Springs in the Los Padres National Forest this morning, from 12:30 AM to 6:45 AM.

The staff at the Tassajara Mountain Zen Center should be incredibly proud, their initial fire attack efforts helped keep the fire contained, buying critical time for responding apparatus to arrive and preventing further damage. Thanks to their quick actions, only one structure was lost.

After returning to quarters and placing equipment back in service, Cachagua firefighters transitioned back to their day jobs, continuing to serve as dedicated members of the community.

Special thanks to Cal Fire, MCRFD, Monterey Fire, and Seaside Fire for their mutual aid and support.
