When I think about the qualities that I want in a CUSD Board member, first and foremost I want someone who loves all children. I want someone who will represent the needs and interests of all of the children of our educational community. Beyond that, I want someone who is deeply rooted in our community. I want someone who connects with people from all walks of life and will truly hear their thoughts and concerns. I want someone who has a proven track record of improving our community. I want someone who has made this a better place to raise and educate children. And I want someone with the rare ability to stand up for what they believe while respecting the viewpoint of others. I want someone who can build consensus and work effectively as a member of a governance team. Tess Arthur is that person. She has more than skin in the game, as they say. Tess has her heart and soul in anything and everything that has to do with making life better for the children of our community. I believe Tess Arthur will be an extraordinary Board member. - Marvin Biasotti, Former Superintendent

Tess Arthur is the ideal candidate for the Carmel Unified School Board. Not only is she a pillar in the community but she has forged valuable relationships with both the faculty and administration and more importantly is a tremendous conduit to the school body, parents and the community at large. Tess’ tireless fundraising efforts were instrumental in the successful completion of the Carmel High athletic field. Tess is thoughtful, practical and has the best interests of the community at heart and most importantly has been a model parent and role model to not only her own children but all the children Tess has connected with over the years.
