The Putnam County Young Republican Club condemns, in the strongest possible terms, the disgusting text messages sent by leaders of the NYSYR. These messages are racist, anti-Semitic, misogynistic, and evil. This in no way represents the values and views of the hard-working, freedom-loving young Americans that make up our county club.

We were not aware in any way of this groupchat or these horrible messages until the story came out today. Had we known, we would have never supported the NYSYR Vice Chairman to come within the borders of Putnam County.

Everyone involved in these messages should resign. We are fully in support of reform and a change of leadership at the top of the NYSYR.

Everyone had an amazing time at our Teddy Roosevelt Dinner last night! Congratulations to County Executive Kevin Byrne on receiving the 2025 Teddy Roosevelt Award.

Shoutout to Club President Dave Rivera for his speech about Kevin, Chairman Andres Gil for leading us in the pledge, Jake D'Angelo for MC-ing the event, and Vice-Chairman of the New York State Young Republicans Bobby Walker for coming down, showing his support, and saying a few words.

Join us as we honor our great Putnam County Executive Kevin Byrne with the 2025 Teddy Roosevelt Award.

County Executive Byrne has exhibited incredible leadership traits for the people of our county for many years. He has brought passion, energy and focus for core Republican values: rooting out corruption, fighting for transparency and accountability, cutting wasteful spending and slashing taxes, and promoting positive improvements for all our communities— from our children and families to our veterans and seniors. As a trailblazer himself, Kevin has used his platform to support and elevate Young Republicans in getting involved.

We will be presenting County Executive Byrne with this prestigious award at our Teddy Roosevelt Dinner later this month. Friday, May 23rd at Four Brothers in Mahopac.
