U.S. citizens living outside the United States who intend to return and whose last U.S. residence was in New York may be eligible to register as Military, UOCAVA, or special federal voters and receive an absentee ballot for the races they would otherwise be eligible to vote in based on their New York address.

The Board of Elections was deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Lauren Shields, the Community & Government Affairs Liaison from LiveOnNY. Lauren met with us to teach us how to help voters register to be organ donors when they register to vote. She was a compelling presence at Putnam's naturalization ceremonies, and we will miss her.
