In the center of this garden we have planted a tree, an Ornamental Cherry Blossom. A prominent symbol in Japanese culture the cherry blossom represents Life, Death and Renewal. The cherry blossom is a timeless metaphor for human existence. The blooming season is powerful, glorious and intoxicating but tragically short-lived – a reminder that our lives, too are fragile. The cherry blossom reminds us to pay attention, to cherish each moment, and live each day to the fullest extent.
Throughout the garden you will continue to find symbolism. Holly representing eternal life, box woods representing longevity and immortality, juniper representing boundaries and standing your ground. You will notice lavender, a symbol of calm, purity and grace.
Specifically, I want to call your attention to the daisy’s and hydrangea planted in front of and behind the tree.
Daisy’s are composite flowers, they are actually two flowers combined into one. They symbolize unity, love and strength.
You will notice here they arranged in a line, a thin gold line, in fact. This line, placed directly in front of the tree, represents the love and support we show each other. The strength we have shown and will continue to show as we honor Robbie’s memory.
Hydrangeas, planted behind the tree, represent the same unity and togetherness. They are planted here to show that we have and always will surround our brothers and sisters with these values in mind.

Thanks to a Homeland Security grant we are able to update some of our self contained breathing apparatus . These Air packs will be used for our special teams and at our Fire Training Center. The packs have the latest features-to keep our team safe while they do their jobs
