Deck the Halls, Lock the Doors! The Ridgecrest Police Department Urges Public to Keep Holiday Thieves at Bay this Holiday season.

As the holiday season approaches, the Ridgecrest Police Department is reminding residents to stay vigilant and secure their belongings to avoid becoming targets of holiday grinches. With the festive spirit in the air, it's easy to get caught up in the hustle and bustle of the season, but don't let the excitement of the holidays distract you from taking precautions to protect your property.

"Fa la la la lock!" is our motto this holiday season. As we gear up for merrymaking and gift-giving, it's important to remember that theft-related crimes tend to spike during this time of year. With an increase in shopping, parties, and travel, opportunistic thieves may be on the lookout for easy targets. The Ridgecrest Police Department is advising all residents to lock up their vehicles, secure their homes, and take steps to deter theft-related crimes.

It's the most wonderful time of the year, but it's also the prime time for thieves to act. We want everyone to enjoy the holiday season without having to worry about falling victim to theft. By taking simple precautions, such as locking your car doors, securing your valuables, and being mindful of your surroundings, you can greatly reduce the risk of becoming a target.

To help spread the word, the Ridgecrest Police Department is launching a holiday safety campaign, "Operation Jingle Bell Lock." Throughout the season, officers will be conducting patrols and engaging with the community to raise awareness about preventing theft-related crimes. Additionally, the Ridgecrest Police Department will be sharing tips and reminders on social media and through local news outlets to ensure that everyone knows how to keep their holiday season merry and bright.

In the spirit of giving, the Ridgecrest Police Department encourages everyone to look out for their neighbors and report any suspicious activity. Together, we can work to keep our community safe and secure during this festive time of year. This holiday season, the Ridgecrest Police Department wishes everyone a joyous and safe celebration. Remember, it's better to be safe than sorry, so take the extra moment to lock up, secure your belongings, and keep the holiday grinches at bay.
