I would like to become a notary. I have found many websites advertising services (please see below). Should I purchase my bound through an organization like this? Also, I am confused as to what the fees are. I see that a notary could charge up to $10.00 to notarize a document. But what if you are working as a notary for loan closings? Would that be up to $10.00 per signature? I just want to make sure I have proper expectations. Sorry if this is a ridiculous question. Any help to get started would be greatly appreciated.
Reviewing some very old notary books & found this court case. Perhaps others will also find interesting: (complements of Lake County Notary.)
Does anyone know if the Remote Notary training counts as continuing education? My 2 years are up in October and I am not one to wait.
I have a client who is hearing impaired and we need a closer who knows ASL. Can someone point me in the right direction?
I can't seem to look away...WONDERFUL WIND
Notary the Witness of History
DHIRESH T. SHAH President. All India Notaries Association Message for the Book of Shri Tapan Das. I heartily congratulate the Secretary General of All India Notaries Association and my friend Shri Tapan Das who has always been passionate about the cause & profession of "Notary Public" has penned such a nice book about this noble profession. I immensely enjoyed reading this book in English, "Notary the Witness of History" and have been impressed by the scope, canvass and breadth of the book. Each page is the testimony of love that Shri Tapan Das has for this profession, each page the testimony of great research. As rightly mentioned by Tapan Das, Notary Public had existed for long in so many countries across the world, however it was out of our ignorance that the profession was neither properly portrayed in our cinemas nor in our literature in our country ‘INDIA’. As rightly mentioned, the Bard of English Play, William Shakespeare as also renowned names like Leo Tolstoy, Anton Chekov have taken note of Notary in many of their writings. This is the proof that here is the ancient profession befitting of our respect. I am happy to see that in first chapter itself an introduction of History of Indian Notary and the formation of Notary association and their activity have been incorporated. I hope the present generation of Notaries & Advocates would note this and they will have due respect for what they have been contributing as a Notary Public Shri Tapan Das has spent a lot of time on research to get to know the origin of notary and it is delightful to note the role of Kazi in Mughal era and thereafter introduction of profession of notary in India. Shri Das has briefly mentioned about the profession from historical perspective taking legendary names like Leonardo da Vinci, Napoleon Bonaparte, Leo Tolstoy, William Shakespeare and many more and how they have endorsed the Notary profession one way or the other. In fact the one chapter that I liked most is that on Plato, Cicero and Origin of notary. The last year this book was published in Bengali and now it is published in English and soon it will also be released in Gujarati & Hindi. This book is the first one on notary and that itself makes it a historical occasion. Tapan Das is like my younger brother and I hope his hard work and effort will help readers to know more about our profession. I am sure that if someone intends to know about our profession then they must read this book. Please proudly display this book on your "Book Shelf". Since it deserves a prominent place. My best wishes to Tapan Das for this book which will make all of us proud as Notary. Dhiresh Shah President All India Notaries Association _________________________________________________________________ 106, Ashwamegh Avenue, Nr.Mithakhali Under bridge, Navrangpura, Ahmedabad – 380009 .India Tel. no. 079-26408898. Price Rs.300/- free postal delivery in India Chapter -36, Pages 136. The first book on Notary in India. From:- Notary the Witness of History -by Tapan Das Secrete General, All India Notaries Association.Ahmedabad, Gujarat Romain Rolland Louis IX the King of France first realized the utility of notary, history knows him as Saint Louise also. In 1302 King Philip IV put on much more importance on this profession and also worked for its progress. As such the scope and importance on their job increased from this time. In 16th Century after the Louis XII, Francis I was on the throne of France on 1st January, 1515.His father was Charles of Valois. At that time Henry VIII was the King of England and he was throne on 21st April, 1509. The relation between Francis 1 of France and Henry VIII of England was not good at all. Henry VIII was on the throne after Henry VII and he was having 6 wives but he was the first who separated Church of England from the control of Roman Catholic Church. In 1539 King of Francois I issued an ordinance that from then only all notaries job would be done in French language, not in any local language and they have to preserve deeds, documents and agreement papers made by them. ......contd.
