Our office would like to provide additional clarification regarding the Permanent Vote By Mail (PVBM) applications that we are required to send to voters.

Vote By Mail for Certain Elections

If you would like to receive a PVBM ballot only for elections that do not require you to select a political party, such as Consolidated and General Elections, please check the first box and return the completed application to our office.

Vote By Mail for All Elections

If you would like to receive a PVBM ballot for all elections, including Consolidated, Primary, and General Elections, please check the second box. You will also need to select the political party whose ballot you would like to receive during Primary Elections.

Selecting a political party does not permanently affiliate you with that party. You may change your party selection at any time; however, you will need to submit a new application indicating your preferred party each time you wish to make a change.

Opting Out of Permanent Vote By Mail

If you do not wish to participate in the PVBM program, please check the OPT-OUT box. By selecting this option, our office can update your voter record to indicate that you do not wish to receive another PVBM application every two years.

Please note that opting out of the PVBM program does not prevent you from voting by mail. If you are unable to vote during early voting or at your polling place, you may still request a Vote By Mail ballot for any election in which you wish to participate.

📢 IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR ALL WHITE COUNTY VOTERS

Please help us spread the word!

On Friday, our office mailed notices regarding Permanent Vote By Mail (PVBM) to voters in White County. This mailing is legitimate. It is required by the Illinois Election Code and must be sent within a specified time period before each general election. (Illinois Election Code 10 ILCS 5/19-2.5 & 19.3.)

Here’s what you need to know:
🔹 If you are already enrolled in PVBM or have previously selected the OPT-OUT option, you will not receive an application.

🔹 If you would like to enroll in Permanent Vote By Mail, simply mark the appropriate box on the application and return it to our office.

🔹 If you would like to OPT OUT of receiving these notices in the future, mark the OPT-OUT box and return the form to our office.

Completed forms may be:
📬 Returned in person to our office
📮 Mailed to our office
📧 Emailed to [email protected]

Please note that this mailing is required by the State of Illinois and is a significant expense to the county. Unfortunately, the State does not provide funding to cover this cost.

Our email server is currently coming back online, and we are able to receive new emails. We appreciate your patience as the system continues restoring emails that were sent before service was fully restored. This process may take a little time, but we are working to get everything back to normal as quickly as possible. Thank you for your understanding!

White County Government is currently experiencing an outage affecting our email server. The issue began on Friday and, although we had hoped it would be resolved by this morning, our email service remains unavailable.

Our IT service is actively working to restore service as quickly as possible. We appreciate your patience and understanding while this issue is being addressed.

Please note that the agenda for the upcoming White County Board meeting has been posted and is available on the County’s official website.

ATTENTION taxing districts!!!

On April 24, 2026, all taxing districts should have received an estimated tax computation report for additional verification and proofing via email. Please submit the report back to our office by May 8th. After that date we will be proceeding with tax extension.
