Due to the current dry conditions and strong winds, we respectfully request your cooperation in exercising extreme caution when burning. Whenever possible, please hold-off from burning until conditions improve. If burning cannot be avoided, please take some extra steps to be safe, clear the area around the burn site, having a readily available water supply, and never leaving open flames unattended.

At approximately 10:47pm Carmi Fire was dispatched to a structure fire, crews made an initial interior attack getting a good knock on the fire. Thank you, Norris City Fire Protection District and Crossville il fire dept for the mutual aid!

Storm Spotter Class – Community Invitation

White County EMA, alongside the National Weather Service Paducah, will be hosting a Storm Spotter class to help educate our community on various weather phenomena and how to properly report them.

This class will also cover the difference between thunderstorm warnings and tornado warnings, and what actions to take when they are issued.

Pizza will be provided for dinner.

Last night, departments from all over Southern Illinois and Indiana came to pay their respects to Ralph Hall. It was such an honor to be a part of it. Rest easy Brother! We will take it from here.
