Severe Thunderstorm Warning for central White County until 9:00 PM

03/15/2026

⚠️ Tornado Watch in effect till 11:00 PM tonight. ⚠️

⚠️ Significant Weather Expected This Evening ⚠️

A strong cold front will move through our area later this evening, bringing the potential for severe weather between 6:00 PM and 9:00 PM.

Forecast models indicate a very fast-moving squall line traveling at 50–60 mph, capable of producing damaging winds up to 75 mph. With storms moving this quickly, any tornado that develops could form rapidly with very little warning time. With those kind of winds brings the potential of trees being blown over on roadways and houses.

We are urging residents to stay weather aware late this evening and make sure you have multiple ways to receive weather warnings, especially as storms move into the area.

Currently, much of the Quad State region is under an Enhanced Risk (3 out of 5) for severe weather.

Behind the cold front, temperatures will drop sharply and remain very cold through mid-week. Wind chills in the single digits to lower teens are expected Monday night into Tuesday morning. There is also a chance we could see a light dusting of snow late tonight into Monday.

We will continue to monitor conditions throughout the day and provide updates as needed.

We encourage you to share this post.

Stay safe. Stay aware.

Yesterday was a long day — but a very rewarding one.

We had the opportunity to attend a Rescue Task Force training in Gallatin County, where we trained on high-risk rescue operations during an active shooter situation. I’m very thankful for the invitation and for the valuable knowledge gained that will help enhance the safety and preparedness of our community. Thanks again Nick Capeheart!

Last night, we also hosted our Storm Spotter class. A big shoutout to the National Weather Service for helping make it happen. We had a great turnout, and it’s always encouraging to see community members step up to learn more about severe weather awareness and safety. Thanks again to the Lions Club for donating the use of your facilities. Also, David South, for donating the soda and chips!

Days like yesterday remind us why we do what we do — serving and protecting our community in every way possible.in
