Remain vigilant, stay informed, and check in on family members, neighbors, and friends, especially those who may need additional assistance.�
Unless you have to get out, please do not drive. If you have to please make sure you have a full tank of gas in your vehicle. �

Tomorrow, September 5, 2025 the oil and chip will start. Thank you for all your patience today will be back on 700 E. and Burrells woosds Road (1000 E.) and out towards the Childrens Home tomorrow will be the last day. Resurfacing on 700east …..off of rt 14 going north has begun we had equipment issues but are back up and running… so please use caution and as always we apologize for any inconvenience this causes

Historically high forecast rainfall amounts will create a particularly dangerous situation with respect to the risk of flash flooding and flooding Wednesday through Sunday. * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...All of southeast Missouri, southern Illinois, southwest Indiana, and western Kentucky. * WHEN...From Wednesday afternoon through Sunday morning. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Extensive street flooding and flooding of creeks and rivers are possible. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Multiple rounds of locally heavy rainfall over several days will result in extreme forecast amounts of up to 1 foot of rain that will cause the risk of flash flooding and flooding to rise markedly and create a particularly dangerous flooding situation.

At 627 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located over Norris City, or 11 miles southeast of Mcleansboro, moving east at 50 mph. HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage to roofs, siding, and trees. Locations impacted include... Enfield, Omaha, Norris City, Galatia, Broughton, and Carmi.
