Last month we had a record-breaking lamb weigh in at 90 pounds at just 4 months old (not this one!). We weigh every lamb monthly from birth, watching for the right moment to wean β€” not rushing it, just watching them grow. This is what hands-on livestock care looks like. If you're coming to our Meat & Greet June 13th, maybe you'll be able to spot the record breaker!

Why should you and your family attend the Juneteen Celebration (on June 28th)? Because the story of freedom belongs to all of us.

Join us on June 28th at Miller's Carnation, from 1-3:30 pm. Learn more about the significance of this important national holiday. Walk in the footsteps of Opal Lee, the grandmother of Juneteenth, who still at 97 annually makes a two-and-a-half-mile pilgrimage to commemorate 1865, when more than 250,000 enslaved Black people in Texas learned that they were finally free, marking the true end of slavery in America. Finally on June 17, 2021 President Biden signed a bill into law that made Juneteenth a national holiday.

We hope you will join us! For more information: email [email protected]. Hosted by the Sustainable Resource Collective and First Light Farm & Learning Center
