Blood Drive at Sno-Valley Senior Center | Friday, July 10, 9-3

Summer is known as trauma season, a time of year when hospitals brace for increased patient needs due to travel, accidents, and general emergencies. Summer blood shortages are a recurring issue, and this year is no exception.

Bloodworks Northwest is on standby July 27 through August 2 through the Blood Emergency Readiness Corps.—a vital network ready to rush blood to any U.S. region facing a mass transfusion crisis.

But to do that, we need more donors in July. Your donation could be the difference in our ability to respond to an emergency near or far. Please donate at Sno-Valley Senior Center on Friday, July 10

June: Tangles Around Town-Finding inspiration in the neighborhood

The Zentangle Method is an easy, relaxing, and fun way to create beautiful images by drawing structured patterns. Through exploring the repetitive motions of this artform, we uncover a lovely practice for focus, relaxation and stress reduction.
In this session we will explore some of the patterns that are part of the fabric of Carnation, adding texture and personality all over town. We will take these patterns and play with finding ways to create tangles from our environment.

No experience required. Materials provided. Returning students, come to revisit the fundamentals and learn a few new tangles! Thank you 4Culture!

This presentation will give a solid background on the dramatic implications that falls in and around the home can have on seniors, laying out 6 key action steps that can significantly reduce the risk of such accidents, including tangible steps to improve safety in and around the home. Learn a fall risk assessment tool that may provide additional insights regarding each individual's fall risk profile. Presented by Mark Costello of Eastside Grab Bars.
