Explore the vibrant world of colored pencils with Fresia! This class covers layering, blending, burnishing, and shading techniques to help you create depth and texture in your artwork. You'll learn how to mix colors, add highlights, and make your drawings pop—all with just pencils. Perfect for beginners and enthusiasts alike. This month, Fresia will guide you drawing a seascape. Supplies are provided, but students are welcome to bring their own colored pencils & sketch books. Thank you 4Culture!

Did you see this in the local Carnation group!? Peony bouquets for sale at Sno-Valley Senior Center Parking lot today from noon until all gone. These peonies are grown right here in Carnation and our volunteer (Eve) arranges them and can even do a custom arrangement for you. $20/each. Cash only. 40% of the sales proceeds will go to Sno-Valley Senior Center in Carnation.

“The Rotary Foundation of Duvall is thrilled to provide grants to nonprofit organizations in the valley,” said Jay Soloff, president of the Rotary Foundation of Duvall. “Funds for these grants are generated by Duvall Rotarians who hang hearts in February and pour beverages at the beer and wine garden for Duvall Days and Duvall Summerstage.”

A big THANK YOU to the Rotary Club of Duvall for their grant to Sno-Valley Senior Center in support of our daily lunch program.

We're on track to serve over 11,000 meals to older adults in the Snoqualmie Valley, and these funds will help make that happen!

A group from Sno-Valley Senior Center had a delicious and delightful lunch in Sammamish yesterday! Thank you Pine Lake Ale House for hosting us, and our wonderful driver for making it a fun trip (complete with an ice cream stop afterwards!).

Cooking Made Easy: Introductory Asian Cooking

4 Class Series meeting 3rd Monday June-Sept, 4-6 pm Potluck in October
Learn to cook your favorite Asian dish! Join us every third Monday from June-September (with a group potluck on October 19) for this fun, easy class that includes some hands-on cooking. You will learn kitchen skills and techniques. Practice making an easy meal for one or two people using simple ingredients. For each class, we will explore a dish from a different region of Asia. Enjoy the meal and take home what you cook. Classes taught by Eve Chasengnou and Shelley Cleary. Thank you, King County Dept of Local Services!

Sign Ups Open May 7 for NEW students who were not in the 2025 cooking class; if there are spaces available on May 21 we will open registration to all.

Washington State observed May 20 as Kinship Caregiver Day, with an official proclamation by Governor Ferguson. These amazing families are something to be celebrated, and at Sno-Valley Senior Center, we are happy to host a monthly meetup of Kinship caregivers, facilitated by Laura Lewis of EncompassNW. If you are in a kinship family, you are invited to join any or all of the Snoqualmie Valley meetups at: Mt. Si Senior Center, on third Wednesdays, starting at noon; at Sno-Valley Senior Center, last Thursdays, 10:30 am through lunch; or Zoom group, 1 pm every Wednesday.
