🚀 Carnegie Schools is officially on a STARBASE mission! 🚀

Day 1 was full of STEM, teamwork, and a little Bubble Double Trouble! 🫧🧪 students in Mrs. Miranda Giddens’ fifth grade class enjoyed learning about endothermic and exothermic reactions as they jumped into chemistry, explored CAD design, practiced metric measurement, and got hands-on with some bubbly science along the way!

Carnegie Schools is excited to announce a new grant opportunity that will benefit our students as they make plans for life after school. CPS has partnered with the Kiowa Tribe to administer a Tribal Education Department National Assembly-Native Youth Community Project Grant aimed at improving college and career readiness and opportunities for students.

CPS is excited to welcome KEA High School Specialist, Dee Witmer, to work alongside our team to give our kids a leg up in developing and reaching their established post-secondary goals for life after High School.

Attending the initial planning meeting this week to discuss the management and expectations of the grant were KEA Representatives, Miah Miller, Kelsey Autaubo, and Dee Witmer along with Miranda Lopez, Abe Lopez, Hope Worthington, and Randy Turney representing Carnegie Schools.

CMS Student Council members celebrated school pride and their classmates’ activities by decorating lockers!

They recognized NJHS, Football, Band, Cross Country, Academic Team, Softball, Cheerleading, and Student Council members. (More locker tags to come as we move through the school year!)

Congratulations to our Lucky August Staff Appreciation Drawing Winners! In celebration of “Dolly Paton’s Famous 9 to 5 Song” CPS staff members were asked to share what career they might have pursued outside of the Education Biz.

High School Winner, Mr. Abe Lopez would have been a painter/artist or full-time farmer. Mrs. Schneberger at CMS would have been a nurse or possibly the owner of a coffee/donut shop. Elementary winners, Mrs. Jadyn Kautz and Mrs. Miranda Giddens would have chosen to be a radiologist and a massage therapist while district support staff winner, Martha Bialas would have chosen to pursue a career in medical coding/billing.

While these all sound like great career plans, we are very glad these incredible Wildcats ended up right where they are at CPS. Each of the winners received a B3 Gift Certificate from CPS Superintendent, MrT.
