Mason Sells Act - AED Reporting

Effective July 1, 2026, the Mason Sells AED Coordination Act (Georgia Senate Bill 399) requires owners of Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) to register their AED locations with their local 9-1-1 Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP). This law was created to improve emergency response by enabling 9-1-1 telecommunicators to quickly identify nearby AEDs and direct callers to them during a cardiac emergency, when every second counts.

If your business, school, church, government agency, community organization, or other facility has an AED, please complete the online registration form below. Providing accurate AED location information helps ensure our dispatchers have the resources they need to assist callers and improve outcomes during sudden cardiac arrest emergencies.

If you relocate, replace, or remove an AED, please submit an updated online registration form so that our records remain current.

The Franklin County Board of Commissioners is pleased to announce Jared Hightower as our new
Planning & Zoning Director.

In this role, Jared will oversee the County's planning and zoning operations, working with residents, businesses, developers, and local officials to support responsible growth while preserving the character and quality of life that make Franklin County a wonderful place to live, work, and do business.

Many in our community already know Jared through his dedicated service as Franklin County's Deputy County Marshal. We appreciate his commitment to serving our citizens and look forward to the experience, professionalism, and leadership he will bring to his new role as Planning & Zoning Director.
