Last week, our members welcomed our new Brush Truck, replacing a 1990 Ford with a manual transmission that has served us for many years. Over the next few weeks, our members will become familiar with the new unit and its features as we prepare to place it into service. This new Brush Truck provides expanded capabilities both on and off the road, along with improved functionality and ease of use that our previous unit could not offer. We look forward to putting this new apparatus to work and continuing to better serve our community.

NJDEP recommends limiting outdoor activities today.

⚠️An Air Quality Action Day for Ozone and Particulate Matter (PM2.5) has been declared for Thursday, July 16th.

PM2.5 will rise into the Unhealthy category statewide on Thursday as a dense plume of Canadian wildfire smoke impacts the region. Some members of the general public may experience health effects, while members of sensitive groups, including those with heart or lung disease, the elderly, and the young, may experience more serious health effects.

All individuals should limit strenuous activities and the amount of time active outdoors especially in the evening hours. Additionally, mostly sunny skies, persistent hot temperatures, light winds out of the west-northwest, and residual pollution from days prior will allow ozone levels to remain in the Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups (USG) category in central and southern New Jersey.

The forecast will be closely monitored as a regionally deteriorated air mass is expected to continue through the remainder of the week.
