SEPTEMBER 11th FLAG & BELL RINGING REMEMBRANCE CEREMONY.

The public is invited to attend our ceremony in remembrance of 9/11 attacks. The ceremony will take place on the front drive next to the flag pole at Station 28, 365 Kuhn Road. It will start at 9:00AM and will last approximately 15 minutes.

This week we had a full crowd for another ceremony at Carol Stream Fire District! We had the pleasure of swearing in Brady Finn and Jaseeri King as Firefighter/Paramedics. We are excited and proud of both of our new members and wish them the best of luck in their new positions.

Light the Night for Fallen Firefighters
From April 27 to May 4, 2025, we invite fire departments, businesses, and individuals to light up landmarks, buildings, and homes in red to pay tribute to the brave men and women who gave their lives in service. This nationwide initiative, led by the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation, provides an opportunity for all of us to show our respect.

Light the Night for Fallen Firefighters is part of the National Fallen Firefighters Memorial Weekend sponsored by the NFFF.

Carol Stream Fire District personnel from Tower 28, Medic 28, and Battalion 28 were given EMS citations from Fire Chief Rob Schultz. Chief Schultz states that the crew did an outstanding job saving the life of a Truck Driver on January 6, 2025. The patient was conscious when they arrived and quickly went into full arrest. It was the efforts of our crews that made it possible for this patient to be discharged from the hospital and is making a full recovery at home. We were happy to have him present for the awards given out today.

Last night we had a full crowd for another ceremony at Carol Stream Fire District! We had the pleasure of promoting Jason Kanzia to Deputy Chief and Tyler Poffenbarger to Lieutenant. We also had the pleasure of swearing in Bella Volpe and Josh Beaman as Firefighter/Paramedics. We are excited and proud of all of our members and wish them the best of luck in their new positions.

Please join the Carol Stream Fire District at 6pm on February 25th to swear in our newest Deputy Chief Jason Kanzia, and Lieutenant Tyler Poffenbarger. We also will be swearing in 3 new Firefighter/Paramedic Candidates, Eric Mandujano, Isabella Volpe, and Joshua Beaman. The Ceremony will be held on our apparatus bay floor at Station 28, 365 Kuhn Road.

A special Roll Call was held this morning for Candidate Dylan Schultz who has successfully completed his 1 year of probation. Throughout the last year Dylan was put through a rigorous training program that has taught him how to be a Firefighter/Paramedic for The Carol Stream Fire District. Chief Rob Schultz stated “I am very proud of the hard work Dylan has put forth in the past year.” Chief Schultz and the command staff thanked all of the crews for their constant training that has taken place. This is really just beginning of Dylan’s career and is off to a great start. Congratulations!!!
