Clarke Mosquito Control has confirmed the presence of West Nile Virus (WNV) in a mosquito sample collected near St. Charles Road and Westgate Drive in Carol Stream.

As part of the Village's ongoing mosquito control program, Clarke Mosquito Control is scheduled to conduct a Village-wide adult mosquito control application on ๐“๐ฎ๐ž๐ฌ๐๐š๐ฒ, ๐’๐ž๐ฉ๐ญ๐ž๐ฆ๐›๐ž๐ซ ๐Ÿ–. The application will take place from dusk to dawn, weather permitting. This application is intended to help reduce the adult mosquito population and minimize the risk of West Nile Virus transmission.

There have been no reported human cases of West Nile Virus in Carol Stream this year. Residents are encouraged to help reduce mosquito breeding by eliminating standing water around their homes and to protect themselves from mosquito bites by using EPA-approved insect repellent, wearing long sleeves and pants when outdoors, and avoiding outdoor activities during peak mosquito activity when possible.

Village Administrative Offices will be closed on Monday, September 7, in observance of Labor Day. Refuse and recycling collection will be delayed by one day, with Friday customers serviced on Saturday. Emergency services remain available 24/7.

The next Village Board Meeting will take place on Tuesday, September 8.

Bring the kids to Fall Fest on Saturday, September 19 for an afternoon of free family-friendly activities at Ross Ferraro Town Center!

From 12:30โ€“4:30 p.m., enjoy bounce houses, pumpkin decorating, face painting, a balloon artist, and more.

Families can also stop by activity tables hosted by the Carol Stream Park District, Carol Stream Public Library, and Carol Stream Police Department Social Services Unit.

And thereโ€™s more to enjoy throughout the day! Fall Fest also features a morning car show, an afternoon of live music from The Jolly Ringwalds, and food and beverages available for purchase.
