We’re excited to announce a DNR partnership with the Michigan Army National Guard for improvement projects taking place May 3-18 at Wilderness State Park. The National Guard will lend their expertise to help with much-needed repairs and renovations to several of our cabins, roads, parking lots and the Goose Pond trail, as well as the construction of a new, accessible playground. As a result, the Pines campground, trailhead and connecting trails (sites #501-599) will not open until May 22, 2024 . All other campsites open May 15. Thanks to the Michigan Army National Guard for sharing their engineers to update our beautiful park.
