A big step toward a sustainable water future for Carpinteria!

Yesterday, the Carpinteria Valley Water District and Carpinteria Sanitary District broke ground on the Carpinteria Advanced Purification Project (CAPP), an initiative that will recycle more than 1 million gallons of water daily and supply up to 25% of water district needs.

By turning treated wastewater into a reliable, drought-proof water source, CAPP strengthens local resilience, protects our groundwater basin, and secures water for generations to come.

CVWD customers will begin receiving mailed notices this week regarding proposed water rate adjustments for fiscal years 2027–2029.

The proposed changes are based on an independent rate study and support essential investments in water‑supply reliability, infrastructure upgrades, emergency preparedness, and regulatory compliance including the Carpinteria Advanced Purification Project (CAPP).
