We are happy to assist even the smallest members of our community. We saw him moving at a snails (turtles) pace making his way across the road. We stopped and asked, “shell I help you across the road?” We even got him to take a “shell-fie…”
We hope everyone has a safe Memorial Day!

Officer Kennedy wears many hats at McDougle Middle School. School Resource Officer, mentor, friend, but his favorite would be the baseball hat that he puts on when he is coaching the McDougle Mustangs baseball team! Officer Kennedy has had a long love of baseball, playing since he was 3 years old. He played growing up and even played as a catcher for NC Central. Officer Kennedy has been serving the Carrboro Police Department for over 8 years, and has served as a school resource officer for McDougle Middle School for the last 3 years.

When the baseball team needed a coach, he jumped at the opportunity! His first season he took the Mustangs to a 9-2 record! Last night the Mustangs fell short in the championship game against South Roxboro. The Mustangs went undefeated in the CHCCS division, are the division champions, and ended the 2026 season with another 9-2 record!! Thank you Officer (and coach) Kennedy for all you do and go Mustangs!!
