Due to potential weather concerns moving throughout the area this afternoon, Pearl River County School District will be releasing early today.

Pearl River Central Elementary School: 1:15 PM
Pearl River Central Middle/High Schools: 1:30 PM

Please allow extra time for afternoon transportation and drive safely. All afternoon extracurricular activities and after-school programs are canceled. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding as we prioritize the safety of our students and staff.

Registration for new and returning students has now reopened. Anyone needing to complete registration for the 2026-2027 school year should bring the required proof of residency to the school office. Required documents for new students include MS Immunization Form 121, 2 current proofs of residency, a State ID, Birth Certificate, and a withdrawal form or report card from the previous school year.

Proofs of residency must show the parent/guardian's first and last name, a current date, and a physical street address. We cannot accept P.O. Boxes. If the proof is in a stepparent's name one needs to be provided to the school.

We accept these documents as a proof of residency:
Filed Homestead Exemption Application
Mortgage Documents
Property Deed
Apartment or Residential Lease Agreement
Utility Bills (dated within the last 60 days; must show the service and mailing address)
Driver's License or Government-Issued Photo ID
Voter Precinct Identification
Automobile Registration

Today PRCSD participated in the Civilian Response to Active Shooter Events (CRASE) course, based on the Avoid, Deny, Defend (ADD) strategy developed by the Advanced Law Enforcement Rapid Response Training (ALERRT) program in 2004, equips participants with practical strategies and a proven framework for increasing their chances of survival during an active shooter event.

Thank you to our Campus Police Chief Brandon Herrin and Officer Whitten from the AG’s office for providing this training and ensuring that we are doing everything possible to keep our students safe in the event someone tries to harm them.
