HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.

Storms in our region west of Pittsburgh are presenting a more isolated wind/hail threat initially, but a more organized complex is forecast to bring a widespread damaging wind threat by early evening. We also cannot rule out a tornado or two. Remain alert for additional warnings!

Heads up! A Severe Thunderstorm Watch is in effect until 10 PM. Damaging wind gusts are the main threat (potentially up to 70 MPH), with large hail and a tornado also possible. Have multiple ways to receive warnings!

Morning activity is winding down across the area. Another round of thunderstorms is expected this afternoon and evening. With the ground already wet near and north of I-80, additional heavy rain could lead to flooding, and thus, a Flood Watch has been issued here through midnight. We'll have more details on the next round of storms soon, so stay tuned!

A line of strong to severe thunderstorms is tracking across portions of western Pennsylvania to the north of Pittsburgh, and will continue across the region through 8 AM. Expect torrential rain, wind gusts of 50 to 60 MPH, and frequent lightning. Stay in shelter as these storms approach!
