When a medical emergency happens, the care patients receive before reaching the hospital can make a critical difference.

West Georgia Ambulance is advancing prehospital emergency care with new evidence-based protocols for two of the most time-sensitive medical emergencies: sepsis and cardiac arrest.

Our paramedics have received specialized training on the recognition and treatment of sepsis and can begin critical treatment before patients reach the emergency department. And over the last year, enhanced cardiac arrest care has increased the number of patients whose hearts began beating again before arriving at the hospital by 119%.

These advancements reflect an ongoing commitment to bringing proven, lifesaving care to patients as quickly as possible. 🚑

Have you spotted these around town? 👀

West Georgia Ambulance has added three new 2025 Ford Expedition quick response vehicles (QRVs) to its fleet, complete with Tanner Health's updated branding and advanced safety and performance technology.

While QRVs don't transport patients, they play a critical role in emergency response by getting advanced-level paramedics to the patient's side quickly. Their speed and agility help crews navigate traffic, reach patients efficiently and begin delivering care while transport units are en route.

Expanding the fleet. Enhancing the response. 🚑

National EMS Week is officially underway at West Georgia Ambulance. 🚑

This morning, our crews started their shifts with Chick-fil-A biscuits and fresh coffee as a small thank-you for the lifesaving work they do every day. ☕🐔

And for the crew members who couldn’t make it by WGA headquarters, Director of Operations Amy Jerome hit the road to deliver breakfast straight to them. Because no matter where our teams are serving, we want them to know how appreciated they are.

Thank you to our EMS professionals for your dedication, compassion and commitment to caring for our communities 24/7.

From the training and certifications required to the realities of working in the field, they shared what makes a career in EMS both demanding and rewarding — while answering lots of thoughtful questions along the way.

We’re always grateful for opportunities to connect with students, share our passion for EMS and help inspire the next generation of healthcare professionals.

Until next time! ✌🏻
