We are excited to announce the following promotions to the rank of corporal!

Chandler Carroll is a graduate of Alexander High School in Douglas County. Prior to beginning his law enforcement career, Chandler enlisted in the United States Marine Corps at 18 and served for 4 years, achieving the rank of sergeant.

Chandler began his law enforcement career with the Dallas (GA) Police Department in 2022. He joined the Carrollton Police Department in 2024 as the handler of K9 Jack! He has achieved his Tactical Patrol Officer designation, is a Field Training Officer, and is certified in Standardized Field Sobriety.

Marnie Couch graduated from George Walton Academy in Monroe, Georgia, in 2021. She attended college at the University of North Georgia and graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice. She then attended the ALETE (Academic Law Enforcement Training Exchange) Program through GPSTC at the University of North Georgia, where she earned her POST certification.

Marnie joined the Carrollton Police Department in 2024 and has been assigned to D-Shift. In that time, she has completed training including Standardized Field Sobriety, ARIDE, Crime Scene Processing, Interviews & Interrogation, ALERRT Level 1, Gang Recognition, and Field Training Officer.

Nathan Carnes is originally from Lake Charles, Louisiana. He is a graduate of Wichita State University and McNeese State University, and has a Bachelor’s degree in Liberal Arts and a Master of Fine Arts degree. Prior to his law enforcement career, Nathan taught for 16 years at the university level at Wichita State University, the University of Hartford, and the University of West Georgia.

Nathan came to the Carrollton Police Department in 2024 and was assigned to B-Shift, and then to D-Shift earlier this year. He is a Field Training Officer and has gained certifications in Standardized Field Sobriety, Peer Support, Crime Scene Technician, Tactical Patrol Officer, and is an NRA Range Safety Officer.

Join us in welcoming Sara Momtahan and Jemarco Clairborne to CPD!

Sara is a graduate of Carrollton High School and currently serves in the Army National Guard as a Military Police Officer with the 179th Military Police Company at Fort Stewart. She is currently completing the POST Equivalency of Training program.

Jermarco has been Georgia POST certified for the past two years and brings prior military experience also, having served in the United States Army as a Combat Engineer.

We are excited to add them to the team!
