Public safety isn't a talking point. It's a budget, a staffing plan, and a phone call answered at two in the morning.

As Mayor, we drove crime down 40 percent. As your commissioner, I've made sure our Sheriff's Department is fully funded, because deputies can't protect Denton County with promises. I've also pushed to fund mental health resources. A lot of what our deputies respond to isn't really a crime. It's a crisis. When people in crisis have somewhere to go, our neighborhoods get safer and our deputies focus on the job they were hired for.

That's not politics. It's just what works.
