The Carroll Co. Cougars Bocce team competed in a friendly Bocce Invitational hosted by Belmont County on Saturday, May 9th at the Sons of Italy in Bellaire, OH. Our athletes faced off against friends from Belmont County, Muskingum County, and Tuscarawas County in a day full of great competition and even better sportsmanship
The Sons of Italy provided generously provided a delicious lunch of pizza and chips, making the event even more enjoyable for everyone involved.
The Cougars brought home the following awards:

Participants had a fantastic time during April’s Compass Prevention Week, exploring what healthy relationships look like and building confidence in setting personal boundaries.

Today the individuals at Starlight played ALA Jeopardy. Everyone had a great time demonstrating their ALA knowledge.

Bowling wrapped up its final practice days on Thursday, April 30th, Friday, May 1st, and Saturday, May 2nd. Bowlers went head‑to‑head with family and friends in fun one‑on‑one matchups, and the alley was packed with people enjoying friendly competition. Everyone was treated to pizza, chips, and donuts, making it a perfect celebration to close out another amazing bowling season.

Beginning this week, the bowlers selected to compete at the 2026 Ohio State Special Olympics Summer Games will continue practicing every Saturday as they prepare for their competitions on May 29th–31st.

We’re thrilled that everyone had such a great season and look forward to seeing all our bowlers again next year!

Thursday, April 30th and Friday, May 1st Sarah Price and Marie Dehnart completed their 7 course training for Partners in Policymaking through People First of Ohio. They have learned so much about lawmakers, bills, speaking out, engaging with their local County Boards of Developmental Disabilities, and how to speak with policy makers about issues that affect them and others in the DD community. Sarah and Marie received a certificate and a special pin that they can wear when speaking to political representatives that lets them know that they have completed this training. We are very proud of these 2 ladies for participating in this amazing training!!
