🏛️ Vacant Village Council Seat

The Village of Carrollton is currently accepting letters of interest from Village residents interested in serving on Village Council.

The vacancy was created following the resignation of a current council member. The appointed term will expire on December 31, 2027. At that time, the selected individual may choose to run for election to continue serving.

⚡ Community Electric Aggregation Program

The Village of Carrollton is implementing a community electric aggregation program for residents and small businesses, with Dynegy as the supplier.

This program provides a fixed electric rate of 9.93¢ per kWh through June 2027, with no early termination fee.

🔌 What This Means for You:
• Your electric supplier will change to Dynegy
• AEP Ohio will still handle delivery, outages, and billing
• Your overall service will remain the same

📌 Opt-Out Information:
If you do not wish to participate, you must opt out by May 11, 2026 using the instructions included in your notice (online, by phone, or by mail).

🚨 NOTICE: Hydrant Flushing

The Village of Carrollton will be flushing fire hydrants from April 28 through April 30, 2026.

During this time, residents may experience temporary water discoloration.

Please use caution when doing laundry to avoid possible staining.

🗑️ Spring Cleanup – Curbside Collection

The Village of Carrollton, in partnership with Kimble, will be conducting Spring Cleanup on May 14, 2026.

Residents can place approved items at the curb for collection. Please review the following guidelines to ensure proper pickup:

🚫 Not Accepted:
• Hazardous or toxic waste
• Oil, batteries, paint, tires
• Appliances containing Freon (unless properly certified)
• Construction or demolition materials
• Concrete, dirt, brick, or stone
• Fluorescent bulbs or flammable materials

📦 Preparation Guidelines:
• Items must be under 4 ft. and 50 lbs. if not bagged
• Appliances with Freon must be removed and tagged by a certified technician
• No 55-gallon drums, barrels, or cardboard boxes
• Furniture, mattresses, box springs, and carpet must be wrapped in plastic

🌳 Tree Donation Program at Fifth Street Park

The Village of Carrollton has partnered with Greens & Things of Malvern to offer trees for purchase and planting at Fifth Street Park.

Trees may be donated in honor or in memory of loved ones, creating a lasting tribute that will beautify the park for years to come.

🌳 Available Trees (planting included):

1.5-inch Caliper Trees (Great Starter Trees)
• Eastern Red Bud – $625
• Sugar Maple – $650

Smaller Tree
• Flowering Dogwood – $500

Remembrance plaques are also available.

All purchases and planting arrangements must be made directly through Greens & Things, located at 6964 Alliance Rd., Malvern, Ohio 44644

A winter weather advisory is in effect for the Village of Carrollton from Friday, January 23, 2026, through Tuesday, January 26, 2026.

Residents are asked to refrain from unnecessary travel to allow emergency workers to safely perform their duties.

Snow parking bans will be in effect as posted and enforced.

EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY

The Village of Carrollton is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Street Department Maintenance Worker. Successful applicants must possess a valid Ohio driver’s license, be able to pass a pre-employment physical and drug test. This position performs manual labor in the repair, maintenance and minor construction of Village streets and storm drainage systems, removal of snow and ice and other duties as assigned. The position works a minimum of 40 hrs. per week and includes retirement and health insurance benefits.
