🚨 SUPERHERO IN OUR COMMUNITY 🚨

On November 4, 2025, 6-year-old Mitchell Tasker showed incredible courage during a real emergency. When his grandmother fell and needed help, Mitchell stayed calm, pressed her Life Alert button, and made sure help was on the way.

Because of his quick thinking, she received the assistance she needed — and Mitchell proved that heroes don’t always wear capes. Sometimes they’re six years old.

Today, Mitchell was awarded the Superhero Bravery Award by the Carrollton Police Department for his bravery, clear thinking, and big heart.

Those present and thanking Mitchell for his quick thinking were Carrollton Village Mayor William Stoneman, Administrator Mark Wells, Chief Tim Timberlake, Asst. Chief Geno Cook, Ptl. Paul Miller, Cadet Jack Osborn and Mitchell’s parents Scott and Wendi Tasker.

Please join us in congratulating Mitchell!
Great job, young man — our community is proud of you.

The Carrollton Police Department would like to send our deepest condolences to the Cayton Family. Nicholas Cayton a 2004 graduate of Carrollton High School. Trooper Cayton dedicated his life to service and was tragically taken from us Thursday assisting a motorist in need. One would think a simple task, sitting off the roadway on the shoulder, overhead lights flashing, no call for alarm and tragedy strikes. No words can express this tragic loss. Rest in Peace, your brothers and sisters in blue will take it from here.

Community awareness!

If you are wondering who is the one going around in Carrollton during the day knocking on doors, it is a university student from Europe, Estonia - Andrei Maslennikov, he is doing a summer exchange program selling educational books and apps for families from young toddlers all the way to college prep. This is Andrei's 1st week in Carrollton, so if you see him, don't be shy to say hi to him. This guy is legit and has acquired his vendor's permit approved by the Village of Carrollton Administrator.

Construction update: The City Lot #1 project has been suspended until further notice. There will be paving work around the alleys and 2nd Street of that area, so be cautious.

****Closure Announcement****

I was contacted by the Street Department to advise residents that City Lot #1 between BMV and the Virginia Restaurant will be closed the week of August 12th. I was advised the lot was being cleaned up, resurfaced and painted along with some alleyways in that area. We apologize for any inconvenience. If the contractor is able to start any sooner an update will be posted. That area will be barricaded during this closure.
