This was my closing statement from the forum. I had 90 seconds. :)
I want you to close your eyes and imagine this Carroll County, 20 years from now…..Once you get off our interstate you now see some giant berms, filled with decorative trees, flowers, and landscaping and a large “Welcome to Carroll County sign.”
Thousands of people visit our historic downtown and destination venues throughout our county. We have many wonderful “river restaurants,” shops of all kinds, upscale riverfront condos, and booming office businesses.
In our county…we have coffee shops, Wineries, Craft Brewery’s, Oliver House Bed and Breakfast, Camp Kysoc and now called ”Big Timbers” is booming with life. Therapeutic pool, camps for all ages, walking trails, bike trails .. just to name a few
All over Carroll County, our smaller communities, have been positively transformed by widespread renovation to housing, and infrastructure improvements to our roads, and bridges etc….
Every effort has been made to keep the county clean and safe for our residents, businesses, and visitors. Nuisances that were once here, have all but disappeared
Our “Senior Citizen Center” is booming with activities. Our hospital is thriving!
Our children who once left Carroll County to live elsewhere, now want to come back, and live, work and raise families here, because our county is a forward thinking, and transformed community.
How do we do this? We must have courageous hard-working group of elected officials, who work together with the citizens, to change the trajectory of the county we love, from a declining community, to a thriving community.
