🚨 FLOODING AND SEVERE WEATHER POSSIBLE LATE THIS WEEK 🚨

The National Hurricane Center has begun advisories on Potential Tropical Cyclone #1 in the western Gulf. While the storm itself will not directly impact our area, its remnants and tropical moisture are expected to move into West Georgia Thursday through Friday.

🌧️ MAIN THREAT: FLASH FLOODING

Heavy rainfall today, combined with additional tropical moisture later this week, will significantly increase the risk of flash flooding and river flooding across Carroll County and surrounding areas.

📅 TIMELINE:

Tuesday (today):
• Periods of rain and thunderstorms
• Around 1 inch of rainfall expected, with isolated higher amounts possible
• Greatest impacts mainly along and south of I-20

Thursday – Friday:
• Heavy rain and thunderstorms expected throughout Thursday into early Friday
• Flooding concerns will increase as tropical moisture moves into the area

⚠️ POSSIBLE SEVERE WEATHER THURSDAY

Forecasters are also monitoring the potential for bands of stronger storms to develop ahead of the system. If these bands form, they could produce:

🌬️ Damaging wind gusts
🌪️ Brief tornadoes

The severe weather threat remains uncertain at this time, but residents should stay weather aware as forecasts are refined over the next couple of days.

🚨 Potential Impacts:
✔️ Flash flooding
✔️ River flooding
