Our second Distinguished Student this year is Hudson.
Hudson Roser is a standout student at Fremont who consistently goes above and beyond, serving as a shining example of quiet, steady leadership. He is a remarkably innovative and bright thinker who possesses a natural talent for problem-solving and engineering. Whether he is requesting specialized hardware to improve a windmill project or troubleshooting a complex circuit kit that he mastered in minutes, Hudson’s curiosity and intelligence are evident in everything he touches. He is a deeply dedicated student who is always pushing himself to reach new heights, yet he remains a humble team player who embraces all people with genuine kindness and a wonderful sense of humor.
Hudson’s leadership is defined by his initiative and his desire to lift others up. He frequently takes on leadership roles and is often the first to offer help to his classmates, ensuring that he teaches rather than just explains. This selfless attitude is a hallmark of his time at school; he never puts down those who are struggling and instead fosters an environment of mutual respect and growth. He is a "leader by example" who follows all school rules and approaches his education with a level of maturity and integrity that makes him a pillar of his classroom.
In the music department, Hudson’s commitment to excellence is equally impressive. He is always prepared for band class, attending before-school practices with a positive attitude and consistently practicing at home. He demonstrates a high level of musical discipline, challenging himself to read music without note names and assisting with the band set-up without ever being asked. As a leader in the trumpet section, he provides patient support to his peers, ensuring he is always on task and respectful of the learning environment. Hudson’s blend of intellectual curiosity, technical skill, and compassionate leadership truly distinguishes him as an exceptional student.

Today we’re proud to highlight Angie, who is one of our dustinguished students this year.
Since first grade, Angie Ruiz has flourished at Fremont, evolving into a standout student defined by her remarkable growth and unwavering self-confidence. She is an incredibly dedicated learner who takes immense pride in her education, often viewing every school day as a vital opportunity to improve. Her commitment is so deep that she dislikes missing class, displaying a level of focus and organization that is truly rare for her age. Whether she is tackling a complex ELA assessment or navigating daily lessons, Angie consistently shows up as the best version of herself, putting forth the full effort and determination required to achieve the strongest possible outcomes.
Beyond her academic tenacity, Angie is a pillar of kindness and reliability within the fifth-grade community. While she can be quiet, she is a natural leader who leads by example, frequently volunteering to help whenever a need arises. This helpful spirit is particularly evident in band class, where she arrives consistently prepared and meets the challenges of learning a new instrument with a positive, resilient attitude. She is a supportive teammate who frequently assists fellow flute players with fingerings and note names, even going as far as offering her lunch recess to play alongside struggling students to help build their confidence.
Angie’s character makes her an "all-around great kid" who is deeply trusted and respected by her peers. She maintains a respectful and polite demeanor at all times, ensuring she is always on task and mindful of the learning environment. Her blend of talent, hard work, and genuine sweetness has made a lasting impact on her teachers and classmates alike. By consistently choosing kindness and dedication, Angie has proven herself to be a truly distinguished student who embodies the very best values of our school.

Our third graders got to experience their first of six swim lessons provided by the Carson City recreation department swim center coaches. Mike Freeman from the Carson City pool did a fabulous job with his coaches, providing differentiated swim lessons for all of our third graders today. Our students are so excited for the upcoming swim lessons and the excitement it brings to the end of the year.
