We are pleased to announce Mrs. Shannon Slamon as the new vice principal at Bordewich Bray Elementary School. Slamon most recently served as the interim vice principal of the school, beginning in January, earlier this year. Throughout her career, she has been passionate about building strong relationships, supporting teachers and creating engaging learning experiences that help every student succeed. Dear Bordewich Families,

On August 11th and 12th, we will have our required parent meetings where you will also learn the name of your child's homeroom teacher. Meetings will be at 6pm in the multipurpose room and daycare will be available.

In addition to this, we are having a huge kickoff of the school year on the first day of school, Tuesday, August 18th. On this day, we are asking parents to bring signs in your child's house colors to cheer them on and get them excited about the first day of school. We will also have signs available for you to decorate on August 11th and 12th. On the first day, parents are invited to go to your child's classroom to meet the teacher and learn about what is happening this year. Then, we will all go out outside for a First Day of School Pep Rally where we will sort our new students and have a great celebration! Finally, around 10am, all students will head back to class to start their day. We hope you can join us for this fun morning! Kindergarten starts on August 20th and we will have a similar start to their school year as well.

The second lady said a trip to the White House is a prize for this summer's challenge for children in grades K-8.

🎉☀️ What an amazing way to celebrate the end of another fantastic school year at Bordewich Bray Elementary! ☀️🎉

Our students wrapped up the year with a week full of fun, school spirit, and unforgettable memories!

🎪 We kicked things off with our Annual Attendance Carnival, celebrating the importance of showing up every day and recognizing our students for their commitment to learning.

🏠 We also held our final House Meetings of the year, where students came together to celebrate their house accomplishments. The excitement reached a whole new level as our house mascots raced across the field to the cheers of students and staff! We were also proud to announce our new House Leaders for the 2026–2027 school year.

🌞 Finally, students enjoyed an action-packed Field Day filled with games, laughter, teamwork, and plenty of fun in the sun!

As we close out the school year, we want to thank our students, families, and staff for making this year so special. We hope everyone has a safe, relaxing, and fun-filled summer break. We can't wait to see you again next school year!

We celebrated our amazing 5th graders as they completed their Promotion Walk through the halls! 🎓🎉

As they take this exciting next step, we are so proud of all they have accomplished during their elementary school years. Their hard work, growth, and achievements have prepared them for the adventures ahead.

We wish each of our students a wonderful summer and a successful start to middle school. Keep learning, keep growing, and always believe in yourselves—we can't wait to see all the great things you'll achieve!

Hello Bordewich Families,

I wanted to let you know that the House of Reveur was our winner of the Penny War! Way to go. I cannot thank you all enough for your support. Because of your generosity, we were able to raise $2,797.50. With these funds, we will be adding a dunk tank, photo booth, and ice cream pops from La Tapatia for every student to the carnival. The carnival will be a great time for all!

The update for the Penny War is below! Altruismo is back in the lead followed by Reveur. We have just one more day to go! Things can change very quickly based on your generous donations! Thank you all so much! The kids are really have a ton of fun with the Penny War!

Bordewich will be having our House Penny War all week - April 27 - May 1st. All proceeds will go towards our end of the year carnival for attendance! Please have your students bring in any loose change you may have! Pennies will be worth one positive point for your house and all silver coins will be worth negative points for the other houses based on the coins value. We also have an online option (see link below) that will be worth positive points for your house. Every $1.00 donated online equals 100 positive points! At the end of the Penny War, each house will get their points added to their house towards our ongoing competition. In addition to this, the house with the most points at the end will receive an ice cream party! Thank you all for your continued support of our students!
