👻🪦 Yesterday, the Park Rangers hosted their first Halfway to Halloween Cemetery Tour at Lone Mountain Cemetery complete with 1940s inspired attire!

Participants stepped back in time as they learned about some of Carson City's historic figures and the stories that followed them. A special thank you to LeeAnn Keever for joining us and helping bring the cemetery's rich history to life!

Did you know? 🐴 Hank Monk, one of the most famous stagecoach drivers of the Old West, is buried at Lone Mountain Cemetery. He became a legend for his fast driving which was mentioned in several books including, Roughing It by Mark Twain.

It was a perfect day finishing up the C-Hill flag! Thank you to all the volunteers, donors, C-Hill Foundation, NJROTC, Foundation for Carson City Parks and Recreation and so many more for helping restore a piece of local history! Thanks also to the Elks and Chamber of Commerce for feeding the volunteers!

Volunteer THIS Saturday May 30th to help reassemble the iconic C-Hill Flag, a Carson City landmark built by volunteers and supported by our community for more than 20 years! The goal for this workday is to complete the installation of the aluminum panels that make up the flag.
