Public Meeting on the Reno Spaghetti Bowl phase 2A design modification.

06/11/2026

As NDOT crews work to stripe our highways, drivers should follow these safety tips to help prevent crashes, injuries, and vehicle damage:

Reduce speed when approaching striping crews to improve reaction time and ensure worker safety
Stay back and drive far behind striping trucks to avoid wet paint and allow crews space to work
Do not pass striping vehicles or recently striped markings unless directed by signage or a flagger

Observe all warning signs and cones and be patient as delays are typically brief and help ensure enhanced roadway visibility which keeps us

Attention Reno!

I-80 lanes will be reduced in Verdi and Sparks June 8-11 for routine inspection of interstate bridges.

Verdi will have daytime lane reductions June 8-11 from 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. for inspection of bridges crossing the Truckee River and railroad tracks.

Downtown Sparks will have overnight lane reductions and ramp closures June 9-10 from 9 p.m. - 3 a.m.

NDOT inspects the majority of Nevada bridges, including city and county-maintained structures, every two years. Bridges with more extensive deterioration are inspected more often, while select newer bridges are inspected every four years. In fact, NDOT’s dedicated bridge inspection and rehabilitation program has helped Nevada bridges to be named among the nation’s best for the eighth consecutive year.

Protective gear, signs, lots of activity, but most of all, teamwork. Whether it’s playoff hockey or highway construction, the goal is the same when the final whistle blows: everyone gets home safe.

Slow down in work zones, stay alert, and give road crews the space they need to do their job safely.

Today is National Secure Your Load Day, a reminder that every driver has a role in keeping Nevada’s roads clean and safe.

Unsecured items can become dangerous debris, leading to crashes, injuries, or worse. Whether you're hauling yard waste, furniture, or construction materials, tie it down, tarp it up, and check it twice.

A little effort can prevent a major hazard. Let’s all do our part.
