Southern Nevada, let the landscape inspire your words. 🌵

Hosted at Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area, The Nature of Poetry Night invites writers, poets and nature lovers to experience an evening celebrating creativity, connection and the natural world.

Set against the Calico hills, selected original poems inspired by the landscape, wildlife and spirit of the outdoors will be performed live at the Visitor Center.

Whether you’re a poet or simply love listening to a good story, come experience the beauty of words in one of Nevada’s most iconic landscapes.

What happens when Nevada invests in the arts? The impact goes far beyond the canvas. 🎨

Nevada’s nonprofit arts and culture sector creates jobs, generates income, drives local spending and brings visitors to communities across the state.

Through the Arts & Economic Prosperity 6 (AEP6) study, the Nevada Arts Council partnered with Americans for the Arts to measure the economic impact of arts and culture across Nevada.

The arts strengthen more than our cultural landscape. They help build stronger communities, support local economies and create opportunities for Nevadans.
This data gives us a clearer picture of the role arts and culture play in Nevada and helps demonstrate why continued investment in the arts matters.

Today, we celebrate the artists keeping Nevada’s heritage alive. 🏜️

Nevada’s heritage artists preserve the stories, traditions, and cultural practices that make our communities unique. Their work connects generations and helps ensure these traditions continue to thrive.

Today, a panel of arts professionals will review, discuss and score 11 eligible applications for the FY27 Nevada Heritage Fellowship Award, with artists requesting up to $5,000 each. And the public is invited to be part of the process.
