The Carteret Fire Department & EMS Division would like to extend our thoughts and prayers and offer our deepest and most sincere condolences to the family, friends, and loved ones of former Chief Steve Terebetsky during this difficult time. We also extend our sympathies to the members of the Avenel Fire Department, who have lost not only a respected leader, but also a dedicated firefighter, mentor, and friend.

May 10th - 16th Starts National Police Week. We Thank Our Very Own Law Enforcement Officers at the Carteret Police Department PBA Local # 47 and to All Law Enforcement Officers across the Country. Thank You to the Courageous and Heroic Men and Women who put their Lives on the Line, Each and Every Day, 24/7, 365 Days a Year to Serve and Protect our Communities. Most Importantly Let Us Not Forget those who made the Ultimate Sacrifice, Rest In Peace.

International Firefighters’ Day

The symbol of International Firefighters’ Day is the red and blue ribbon. The color red represents fire, while blue represents water. Together, these colors also symbolize emergency services around the world.

On International Firefighters’ Day, take a moment to thank your local firefighters for everything they do to protect our communities.

These brave men and women put their lives on the line for us 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Many firefighters are volunteers, giving their own time to serve and protect others.

Thank a firefighter not just today, but every day.

This week, we recognize National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week. We Thank the Men and Women who provide assistance 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Playing a Critical Role for Fire, Medical, and Law Enforcement by answering every call and dispatching help to those in need.

Thank You to our Dispatchers for all the Help they provide us with. The Calm Voice in the Dark Night that is Rarely seen but Mostly Heard.

All No Parking Ordinances are placed in effect. Please Avoid Parking on Emergency Routes and Restricted Parking Areas will be Enforced by the Carteret Police Department. This Helps the DPW Clear the Roads more efficiently and allowing for Emergency Vehicles to get to their Emergency. If you have a Driveway Please Utilize It.
