Carteret Firefighters Mutual Benevolent Association Local #67 (FMBA Local #67) is the Union organization that represents the Boroughs Fire Officers, Firefighters and EMT’s who supply Fire, Rescue, Emergency Medical Services and Code Enforcement to the citizens and visitors of Carteret. The members of FMBA Local 67 protect a population of approximately 24,000 residents occupying an area of 4.4 squa

re miles in Middlesex County, New Jersey. Our members responded to a total of 2647 calls for emergency assistance during the year 2010 and a total of 2851 calls for emergency assistance during the year 2011. Several petro-chemical storage facilities call Carteret their home. The Fire Department also protects the coastline with the Arthur Kill and several miles of north and south bound traffic of the New Jersey Turnpike, which is 14 lanes wide in our response area. We also are responsible for staffing the Fire Prevention Bureau which serves as the local enforcing agency of the New Jersey State Fire Prevention Code and performs over 500 annual inspections within the city limits. The Bureau is responsible for investigating all fires in the City and also conducts fire prevention education throughout the community. Carteret FMBA Local #67 is also active in the community. The members of FMBA Local #67 conduct an extensive community outreach program annually, our programs are designed to impact our most vulnerable citizens. Our members working in conjunction with our community leaders and fire department command staff proactively seek changes that will improve the lives of the citizens we serve and the working conditions of those whose duty it is to serve you.

Shout-out to Uriel, Maliyah, and Aleisha!

During our field day festivities, these three noticed the Veterans memorial flowers had blown over in the wind. They stopped what they were doing to make sure these were put back appropriately, and honorably. Great job!
